Shiny and new

It brings me great joy to announce that after six years at the same job, I am leaving for another. I am excited, sad, nervous, anxious....all of the above, but I look forward to thriving in a new environment, meeting new people, and being faced with new challenges. Always know when it's time to leave the party.

Tomorrow I depart on a road trip to the Gorge in eastern washington for the Sasquatch music festival! I'm sure to return with wonderful stories...assuming I don't crash the RV. Happy Memorial Day!

Timing is everything

I'm starting to really believe this. One small moment in time has the power to alter the rest of your life, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worst. Thought of the week.

I'm still in awe of the amazing Mateo Messina (he won a Grammy for producing the soundtrack for a little film called Juno...). I had the pleasure of meeting him at a Symphony Guild happy hour on Wednesday. Have you ever met someone who has an aura that burns so beautifully bright? I did this week. I'm really excited to be a part of this group - I met some really awesome people and I look forward to helping out with this year's concert. Matt threw out some really great ideas he had...and some big names he is trying to book. Stay tuned!

I dream of Luly

I attended Luly Yang's annual Tea Fashion Show at the Georgian on Sunday afternoon. What a fantastic way to spend a Sunday. First of all, the Georgian is beautiful and decadent all on its own. Fill it with Luly's ultra feminine French Vanilla Lace (gasp!) collection, formal high tea, stunning models, shimmery swag bags, a creamy white cocktail with a pretty pink sugar rim inspired by Luly herself ...and I have died a wonderful death by overload of sheer Luly magnificence. Highlight of the event: when Luly sat down next to me during the show to get my thoughts on her super soft, deliciously ruffly (gasp!) cashmere shawls. I made it be known to her that if the occasion ever arises, I will be walking down the aisle in one of her tantalizing creations. I simply couldn't picture it any other way.

If you don't create change, change will create you.

.Change. It can be scary or exciting...or both. I think when you feel the need for change, it's a sign you aren't on the right path. You can ignore it or you can listen to it. I'm finally choosing to listen. Stay tuned.

Fashion obsession confession: ruffles and lace

I can't get enough of ruffles and lace these days. I love pairing something girly with something edgy. Bellissimo!

I held the stars to light where you are...

I love vintage store shopping. I love the smells. I love how every piece has a story. I also love used book stores. I picked up a copy of "Eat Pray Love" today and I'm anxious to read it. It was a beautiful weekend.

Sun and sweets

The blog gods answered my prayer for sun and I was blessed with a gorgeous spring day. Too bad I was couped up in the office all live long day. Tried to get in to Willy Wonka in smellovision, only to be turned away after waiting over an hour in line. I was taunted by delicious candy smells wafting out of the theater...

Excited for the weekend. Here's to hoping for more sunshine!

Where's my spring?

I feel robbed of my quality spring time. Where is the sun? Where is the warmth? I want to put on a flowy skirt and lay in the grass eating ice cream with a good book for hours. Until the sun decides to stop hiding from me, I'll have to settle for living vicariously through these:

Think antiqued purple and pewter

Say that five times quickly. I think I have chosen the design concept for my new workroom/guestroom. I can't get enough of the color purple. The furniture has been ordered and I'm really excited to put the space together. It will be cold and empty no longer. A few of my drool-worthy inspirations...
